ORIGINS OF ROOTSTOCK

Prior to starting Rootstock, I spent twenty years in sales and marketing leadership. In that time, I suffered greatly under bad leadership and caused others to suffer through my own.

The turning point was a brutal 360 feedback process. I looked in the mirror and finally saw the bad leader I really was. Then I went through a leadership development course that changed my life, and I decided to give the world a version of what changed me.

I founded Rootstock in 2019 out of pain and passion, to offer the world a human-rooted way to lead. Since then, my team and I have joyfully impacted thousands of leaders.

WHAT I DO

A trusted advisor to leaders, I care deeply about restoring the value of humans in the workplace. My work is dedicated to creating transformational experiences, developing tools, and sharing ideas that help leaders build legacy organizations.

I am the author of the Human-Rooted Leadership trilogy, a series of business fables created to share the tools and resources of the Human-Rooted Leadership approach. Each book brings the framework to life through story and equips leaders with practical ways to apply it. Rebels and Tribes helps leaders turn team dysfunction into a human-rooted culture, Unmarked Trail helps them turn great talent into great leadership, and The Greater Work guides them in turning success into legacy.

BEYOND THE WORK

I have also led Christian global missions and relief work throughout my adult life. I live in Chicagoland with my wife Mayya, my son Josh, my daughter Eliana, and our grand-doggy, Tyson.
